What hardware do I need?

A Mac with Apple Silicon running macOS 14 or later, or a Windows PC with an x64 processor. From 24 GB of memory the large language model runs, from 12 GB the compact one, below that the light one. The app suggests the matching profile the first time you launch it.

What does local mean, and what does not?

Accepted Answer

Recording, transcription, speaker separation and minutes run on your computer. After the first model download this also works offline. Only licence activation and the update check talk to our server, without any meeting content. Cloud models are an option in Max and Enterprise, off by default.

How are users and devices counted?

A user is a person who works with the app. Each user can activate the app on one device (Basis), three devices (Pro) or five devices (Max). Meeting participants do not count.

How does the trial work?

The app automatically starts a 14-day trial with the full Max feature set the first time you launch it. You need no account and no credit card. Afterwards you activate the plan you purchased with your licence key.

How do I cancel?

At the end of the term, by e-mail to kontakt@evelan.de or later in the customer portal. With annual billing the licence ends after twelve months, with monthly billing at the end of the month.

What happens after the licence expires?

Your recordings, transcripts and minutes stay on your computer and remain readable and exportable. New recordings and new evaluations need a valid licence.

How does billing work?

You receive an invoice from Evelan GmbH, Hamburg, with VAT shown separately. For companies outside Germany within the EU with a valid VAT ID, the reverse-charge procedure applies. A consolidated invoice is available in the Enterprise plan.

Does activation also work without internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For computers without network access there is an offline activation using a request and response file. It is part of Enterprise and is set up together with you.

Question 9

Do I have to use cloud models?

Accepted Answer

No. Cloud and LAN models are an option in Max and Enterprise for summarization, chat and translation. Transcription and speaker separation always stay local. Your organisation can switch the option off centrally.

Do any further costs arise?

Accepted Answer

No, unless you use your own API key from a cloud provider in Max or Enterprise. That provider bills its costs directly to you.

What does managed administration mean?

In the Enterprise plan Evelan sets up your organisation's policies, dictionary, templates and update rings for you and changes them on request within one working day. The settings reach your devices through the licence. A customer portal for self-service is in progress.
